Timber CE Marking for Sealco Seminar 13th February 2014 Alan Malcolm Uncategorised 0 Comments A guest blog by Richard Bate, Technical Director at Build Check. Despite the 1 July 2013 CE marking deadline coming and going almost seven months ago, there is still some confusion around the topic and what needs to be done to comply with CE marking law. On the run up to the deadline and since, PVCu window manufacturers have had the benefit of support from the systems companies to help them with their CE marking. But because timber windows and doors can vary significantly in the type of wood and profile shape and size the same level of support hasn’t been available. The problem of finding easy to use CE marking information and data can be even more difficult and time consuming. It’s a problem that Sealco, one of the UK’s largest independent hardware distributors hears from its customers who manufacture timber windows and doors. There is a lot of information out there about timber CE marking but joinery companies tell us that it can often be more confusing than helpful. With this in mind Sealco approached us to join forces with Build Check in hosting a CE marking seminar for timber windows and doors. The seminar will offer joinery companies practical advice on how to comply with the new CE Mark Regulation. Build Check’s Richard Bate will give a presentation at the event followed by an afternoon break out session where visitors will have the opportunity to ask us questions about CE marking for timber products one-to-one. At the event we’ll be showing how our online fenestration resource, The Oracle worksand Sealco will be show its range of CE marked ready hardware for timber products. The Sealco CE Marking for Timber seminar takes place in Falkirk on Thursday 27 March. If you would like to register for a place at the seminar, contact Alan Malcom at Sealco on 01324 610710.
